How to Make a Seamless Instagram Carousel (Step by Step)
What makes a carousel seamless?
A normal carousel is a set of separate pictures. A seamless carousel is one wide picture cut into equal slides. A shape, a line or a photo can cross the cut between two slides. When you swipe, the design looks like it keeps moving.
The effect is simple, but it works. Every slide gives the viewer a small reason to see the next one. More swipes mean more time on your post, and that helps Instagram show it to more people.
Step 1: Collect your photos
Choose 5 to 10 photos that look good together. Match the light and the colours. Photos taken on the same day or with the same filter work best.
Put your strongest photo first. The first slide decides if people swipe at all.
Step 2: Pick a template
A template gives you the layout, the shapes and the text style. Torn paper templates feel handmade. Photo dump grids hold many photos at once. Aesthetic templates use soft colour and a lot of white space.
Choose the style that fits your account. You can try many templates in a few taps, because your photos stay saved on your device.
Step 3: Edit the text and swap photos
Change the title and the small text. Keep it short. One strong word often looks better than a full line.
If a template has more photo spots than you have photos, the tool repeats your photos. Tap any spot to choose a different one.
Step 4: Download and post
Download the slides. On a phone, the share sheet opens. On a computer you get one ZIP file.
In Instagram, tap the plus button and choose Post. Use the multiple-select icon and pick the slides in order. Add your caption and share.
Common mistakes
Do not put key text at the very edge of a slide. Instagram can crop the edges in the feed and on the profile grid.
Do not mix sizes. Instagram uses the shape of the first slide for the whole post, so every slide should be 1080 x 1350 pixels.
